The article discusses the history of origin, folk tradition and utilitarian features of the yurt, which is considered a cultural indicator of nomads. The authors analyze the historical background and stages of development of the yurt as a type of dwelling, and describe its main structural elements. Other nomadic peoples of the Kazakh dynasty are characterized by their economic, cultural and ethnographic characteristics; domed, yurt-shaped architectural complexes are considered the personification of the external environment and space as a single artistic ensemble. Particular attention is paid to revealing the idea that a yurt is not just a dwelling, but a unique type of folk art that combines the ideas of combining material values with te spiritual wealth of the peoples of Eurasia. According to the authors, the yurt is both a symbol and relic of the nomadic civilization of the Kazakhs, defining the ideological experience of the nomadic life of the people and their traditional spiritual and material life. Although the problems of the history of nomadic yurts have increased the interest of researchers, they remain poorly developed to this day, as evidenced by works published in recent years. The unique spirit, customs and values of the great steppe, the Kazakh philosophy of life will be revealed from the point of view of the thousand-year history of the yurt, which was a refuge of nomadic peoples, and a precious treasure of our culture. . Architectural structures of modern Kazakhstan are developing along with other areas of our culture and increasing their importance. The Kazakh yurt is not only an element of the material culture of the people, but also contains symbolism that contains a wide variety of information about the religious and mythological picture of the world.
