Traditional games are shaped according to the values related to a nation's language, history, lifestyle, character, beliefs and thoughts, therefore they can be culture-bearing, educational, instructive, etc. they are fun activities that have many features such as. In addition, these games have been passed down from generation to generation and have survived to this day. These cultural values inherently concern many branches of science. However, until now, studies on traditional games have been handled mostly by folklorists and educational scientists. However, it is possible to come across hundreds of game names and thousands of game-related words in the resources related to the vocabulary of our language. This is valid for all languages and dialects of Turkish. In addition, some game names and words related to game materials are as old as the history of the games they belong to, and they are words that have resisted time and have shown their ability to survive centuries and reach the present day. These words also gave games the feature of existence and continuity throughout a long historical process. Therefore, investigating the structure, meaning and origins of such words is of great importance in terms of illuminating the historical development process of our language and culture. However, language studies on this subject are still at the beginning. In order to contribute to eliminating this deficiency, I share my knowledge and experience about traditional game names in Kyrgyz, which I have gained by concentrating on it for a long time, with the scientific community in various formats. As it is known, a significant part of the ancient and institutionalized traditional Turkish games still maintain their existence and importance among the Kyrgyz people today. In this paper, the subject is related to the structure of more than 400 traditional game names in Kyrgyz, and the most used methods and preferred linguistic materials in the formation of these terms will be discussed. It will also be emphasized here that in order to understand the nature of game names, it is necessary to identify the extra-linguistic factors that lead to the formation of these words and to determine the relationship of the game names in question with these factors. I believe that such a study will be useful both in terms of drawing the attention of researchers to the linguistic dimension of data related to traditional games, which are among Turkish cultural values, and in contributing to the resolution of some issues related to word formation methods in Turkish.
