In the article one type of the largest lexical units which is the verbs of emotional atittutudes has been investigated and several different scientists’ researches on the semantics of the verbs have been mentioned. First of all, the importance of the verbs have been shown in Mahmud Kashgharli’s “Divanü-lüğat it-türk (Compendium of the languages of the Turks)”, then it continues with V. Aliyev’s, A. G. Alakbarov’s, B. Khalilov’s and other Azerbaijanian authors’ reserches on this type of the verbs. Z. N. Verdiyeva investigated the parts of speech in 4 volumes and the verbs with their lexical meanings were replaced and distinguished into subgroups in the first volume. Kobrina, Korneeva, Ossovskaya, Guzeeva distinguished 2 lexical-semantic groups of the verbs, L. M. Vasilyev distinguished 13 groups, and H. K. Guliyev distinguished 11 groups of the verbs. It is clear from the researchers’ investigations that the verbs of emotional attitudes were mentioned in L. M. Vasilyev’s and H. K. Guliyev’s researches on the lexical-semantic classification of the verbs. Above mentioned type of the verb consists of three subgroups: 1. the verbs of emotional attitudes which mean love, embosom; 2. the verbs of emotional attitudes which mean respect; 3. the verbs of emotional attitude which mean negative attitudes such as hatred. And also some verbs of those subgroups have been given in samples and compared with the Azerbaijani language by giving their translations.
