Abstract: Azerbaijan Epic: The Story of Karabakh was composed by Aşık (Ther Minstrel) İsrafil. He was born in Çıldır, Ardahan Province and graduated from primary school. He is one of the fifth generation minstrels arising out of Aşık Şenlik school of minstrelsy tradition. Azerbaijan Epic: The idea of composing the Karabakh Story, according to Ashik Israfil's own statement, was inspired by the fact that after the victory of the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijani women carried the coffins of their martyred husbands and brothers in the front row and in their military uniforms. The story consists of two parts. While the first part of the story tells about the defeat of the Azerbaijani army in the First Karabakh War and the cruelty, torture and resistance of the Armenian soldiers, the second part tells about the children of those who left their own homeland barefoot, returning with their boots and saving the occupied homeland, the Turkish woman's belief in victory, and the memory of the martyrs. In this story fictionalized by Aşık İsrafil, extraordinary powers and mythological beings are always constructed as the supporters and assistants of Azerbaijani Turks. However, it should not be forgotten that no cause or war hailed by women will be lost. The main character in the story, Ms. Hurizat, is like the shadow of Mother Maral (Mother Umay) on earth.
