The article describes the role of gender knowledge in personality formation. The socialization of personality in the Kazakh education system is a didactically relevant problem. Gender knowledge is of great importance in the socialization of personality. Gender education begins with the family, continues in kindergarten, school, and then in universities. The article examines the importance of the formation of gender competence of a future specialist at a university, its content, levels of formation and its methodological aspects. The requirements of the new educational paradigm require a specialist to be able to quickly and efficiently analyze voluminous information, to form the ability to effectively and optimally apply his knowledge in future professional practice. From the point of view of these problems, a number of researchers, in particular S. B. Babaev Zh. B., Koyanbaev R. M. In the works of Zh. N.Sarsenova et al., opinions on personality formation, family education, personal characteristics of a student in the higher education system, the importance of gender education were analyzed.
