International trade tends to increase day by day. Kazakhstan is among the countries that demonstrating the potential for rapid development with available resources. It is very important to examine the development of bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and China. The main target of this study is to analyse bilateral trade of Kazakhstan and China. For this purpose, the development of trade between the two countries was analyzed with the Grubel-Lloyd index, the Trade Intensity index and the Trade Complementary index. The study covers the period 2001-2021 and the data was obtained from the International Trade Centre database. As a result of the research, it has been found that the level of trade intensity between two countries has been high for the last few years. On the other hand, it has been determined that the trade complementarity between the two countries is weak.

Uluslararası ticaret her geçen gün artış eğilimi göstermektedir. Kazakistan, mevcut kaynakları ile hızlı gelişme potansiyeli gösteren ülkeler arasında yer almaktadır. Kazakistan ile Çin arasındaki ikili ticarette yaşanan gelişmelerin incelenmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın ana hedefi, Kazakistan ile Çin’in ikili ticaretini analiz etmektir. Bu amaçla çalışmada iki ülke arasındaki ticaretin gelişimi Grubel-Lloyd indeksi, Ticaret Yoğunluğu indeksi ve Ticaret Tamamlayıcılık indeksi ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma 2001-2021 dönemini kapsamakta olup, veriler Uluslararası Ticaret Merkezi’nin veri tabanından derlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, son birkaç yıldır iki ülke arasındaki ticarette yoğunlaşma düzeyinin yükseldiği belirlenmiştir. Diğer taraftan iki ülke arasındaki ticari tamamlayıcılığın ise nispeten zayıf olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
