Yavuz Bahadıroğlu (1945-2021), one of the well-known representatives of the 20th century Turkish prose, approached the Turkish history from a unique position in his journalistic articles, novels and stories and presented the historical facts to the reader through the filter of artistic imagination. The novels "Sunguroglu" and "Bukhara is burning" of the writer, who wrote twenty novels about different periods of the Ottoman Empire, have attracted the special interest of readers. In the author's novel "Crimea is crying", which we involved in the research, the occupation of the ancient Turkish land of Crimea by the Russians and the tragedies experienced by the Crimean Turks during World War II were characterized against the background of social and political processes. At this time, the writer was based not on abstraction, but mainly on real history and what the eyewitnesses said, and managed to convey these facts to the reader in an artistic way. The novel provides information about the social and political landscape of the time. The events take place during World War II, when the Germans gained the upper hand on the front. However, the work does not directly depict war scenes, the events that took place in Crimea in the 40's years of the 20th century and the tragedies that war brought to human destinies are reflected. Another goal of the writer is to convey to the reader what actually happened to the Crimean Turks, who were accused by the world community as "traitors" of the German military forces.
