Literature as a form of social consciousness expresses the artistic and aesthetic thinking of mankind. Therefore, in any artistic work, the social ideals of the society are also manifested. The concept of social ideal refers to transient social ideas or ethical ideals belonging to a certain social class or group. However, this does not mean that they belong to literature. Any social ideal should be positively evaluated if it serves the social development of society, nation or people. In the new Uzbek prose, Kochkor Norqabil is considered one of the writers who has his place with his works written on the theme of war. A number of his short stories are devoted to the theme of war. In the analysis and interpretation of the writer's prose, it is impossible not to take into account the social factors and the literary process of the period when they entered the world of literature. In particular, the bitter fate of the participants in the Afghan war is reflected in many stories written by Kochkor Norqabil and "Crying beyond the river", "Stand up laughing, my dear", "There is me who is not yet eighteen", "Tulip in the snow" creates a common artistic commonality with stories like Especially today, when the need for the artistic expression of social ideals such as peace, prosperity, individual freedom is increasing, the works of Kochkor Norqabil are becoming more important.
