KAZAK TÜRKLERİNDE BİYLİK MÜESSESİNİN SÖZLÜ HALK KÜLTÜRÜNDEKİ YANSIMALARI

Abstract: Biy; It is a title given mostly to managers and upper class in Turks. This concept has been used by all Turkish communities from ancient times to the present; It is written as "beg" in Turkmen, "big" in Eastern Turkish, and "bi, biy" in Kazakh Turks. This old Turkish title, which is also mentioned in the Orkhon Inscriptions and Uyghur texts, took the form of "bey" during the Ottoman period. The words of the biys constitute the basis of the legal system, as well as every stage of social life in today's Kazakh Turks. In this context, it has been institutionalized as the basic and traditional judicial system used in solving various cases. The practitioners of the tradition are Biys and Biy words, which have played an important role in the development of the understanding of folk and customary law of Kazakh Turks throughout the historical process, including today. In the article, the place of biys in the social life of Kazakh Turks and the importance of their words will be revealed and the society's respect for the provisions put forward by these words will be stated.
