The article discusses the place and significance of myth in Kazakh fantastic prose, the role and transformation of mythological characters in it, the function of the content (idea) of a work of art and the main task of a work of fiction and the fact that mythopoetic forms in prose works serve the artistic interests and reveal the author's concept, idea.
