ANNE HASRETİNİN VATAN SEVGİSİNE YÖNELDİĞİ BİR KİŞİLİK: ARİF NİHAT ASYA

The works, memoirs or other writings of literary figures provide a wealth of information about them. One of the research areas of Psychology of Religion is to clarify the religious behaviors and attitudes of literary figures based on their works. Arif Nihat Asya, one of the poets of Turkish literature of the Republican period, says that his childhood and youth years were spent in great impossibilities, that his childhood was turned upside down by the Balkan catastrophe, and that the poverty brought about by the First World War made its impact felt for many years afterwards. The deepest wound in the poet's soul is the death of his father and his mother's remarriage and departure to distant lands. The poet, whose motherly longing turned into patriotic love, who was open to all kinds of new and attached to every valuable old, provided that he did not break away from the national self, became famous as the "Flag Poet" after writing the poem "Flag". The principles reflected in his poems and writings and forming the basis of his world of thought are national values, Turkish consciousness and national culture. The poet, who guides his art with an understanding of nationalism with predominant historical and mystical aspects, states that the first condition of national literature is to accept the nation and nationality and not to be against them. Arif Nihat Asya, who revealed that he was the owner of an original personality with his multi-colored, multi-themed and multi-format poems, examined the issues of yesterday, today and tomorrow from a Turkish perspective, diagnosed these issues from a window framed by national and spiritual values, and offered remedies.
