SOSYAL BİLGİLER ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ TÜRK DÜNYASI’NA YÖNELİK METAFORİK ALGILARI

The aim of this research is to determine the perceptions of social studies teacher candidates towards the Turkish World through metaphors. The method of the research is the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of a total of 136 teacher candidates, 55 males and 81 females, who continue their education at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Faculty of Education, Department of Social Studies Education. The study group was determined by simple random sampling. Research data was collected with a semi-structured form prepared by the researcher. The data were analyzed by content analysis. According to the research results, social studies teacher candidates produced 91 metaphors for the Turkish World. These metaphors are grouped under the categories of unity, nation, homeland, Turk, history, geography and culture. According to the research findings, it is possible to say that teacher candidates have a national consciousness of the Turkish World.
