Summary: Cheslav Milosh is a Polish writer, essayist, literary critic and translator. He is a 1980 Nobel Prize laureate, and at the same time, he has made invaluable contributions to the promotion of Polish literature in the world. The protest against the Soviet regime and the world of empires in general runs like a red line from the creativity of the writer who started his creativity with poetry. In his work, one can find works with different themes: autobiographical, analysis of the religious and metaphysical world, the world of immigrants, and historical themes. C. Milosh, whose destiny was a severe trial as an emigrant, wrote the philosophical treatise "The Enslaved Mind" on this eve. Although the work was recognized late in its country, it gained great fame in Europe and was translated into many languages of the world.
