UYGUR TÜRKLERİNİN MİLLİ KİMLİK İNŞASINDA NESEBNAME GELENEĞİ

The tradition of writing "nesebname" among the Uyghur Turks, based on the Arabic word "neseb", dates back to the pre-Islamic period. Among the Uyghur Turks, for whom it is necessary to know at least seven ancestors, this tradition is called "nesebşunaslık", and this tradition is strengthened in writing with the influence of Chinese culture, with which close relations developed, and Arab culture after Islam. In addition, awareness of genealogy and ancestry is shaped on the basis of national identity construction through digital content produced today. In the study, the place and importance of the lineage tradition in the national identity construction of the Uyghur Turks is evaluated based on the data obtained from the literature review, and the lineage names and their features are discussed in a context-centered manner from a social functional perspective.
