Taşkent örneğinde Özbek Türklerinin ölüm ile ilgili inanış ve uygulamaları

The article examines the beliefs and practices regarding death among the Uzbeks, the most populous Turkish people in Central Asia. The study was conducted within the scope of the Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The article mostly covering post-death practices in a funeral home especially researchs the preparing the dead for treasure (washing and shrouding), performing the funeral prayer, taking the dead to the cemetery and burying them, periodic ceremonies after the burial (the third, the seventh, the twenty, the forty and the year commemorations) and seasonal (snowing, melon harvesting, rose blooming) rituals, apart from information about Uzbeks' mourning clothes and foods.
