TÜRK DÜNYASININ ENTEGRASYONUNDA DOKSANLARDAKİ TÜRK ZİRVELERİNİN ÖNEMİ (1992-1998)

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, fifteen independent states emerged. Among these, there were five Turkish Republics that were directly related to the Republic of Turkey. The Cold War ended and the world moved from a bipolar system to a multipolar system. Turkey closely followed the dissolution of the Soviet Union by taking important initiatives during this period and started relations with the Turkish Republics before gaining full independence. When Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries declared their independence in 1991, Turkey was the first to recognize them. The newly established relations have become stronger and the number of mutual official visits has begun to increase rapidly. In late 1991, the heads of state of the Turkish Republics paid official visits to Turkey and met there. In the spring of 1992, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Süleyman Demirel, made official visits to Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries and immediately opened their embassies. It was decided to hold a summit between the Turkish Republics with the establishment of a diplomatic facility, and this took place without delay in the Autumn of 1992. In the 1990s, five summits were held in different countries at the level of heads of state of the Turkish republics. These summits played a major role in the integration of the Turkic World.
