CAFER CABBARLI’NIN HİKÂYELERİNDE KADININ BİLİNÇLENME SÜRECİ VE EĞİTİMİN ROLÜ

Jafar Jabbarlı, one of the symbolic figures of contemporary Azerbaijani literature, is a poet, storyteller, and playwright who has made significant contributions to the enlightenment of Azerbaijani society. In his works, he criticizes negative aspects such as poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, and lawlessness. He entered the literary world with poetry and reached the peak with his stories and especially theater works. In many of his works, he scrutinized negative traditions and the issue of women; he saw the solution in education as part of women's consciousness-raising process. In this context, the female characters he included in his stories and plays have constantly undergone a process of intellectual evolution. The evolving woman signifies a knowledgeable and beneficial member of society in Jabbarlı's view. Among the fourteen stories he penned, education and women's themes are prominent in some. While mentioning some of the stories in our study, special emphasis has been placed on Gülzar, Dilara, Dilber, Güler and Firuze where education and women's themes are addressed. These stories, in succession, witness women emancipating from ignorance through education, becoming conscious and knowledgeable individuals.
