The article examines the use of precedent names found on the pages of newspapers published in the Kazakh language. Precedent names, which are symbols of precedent phenomena, are the main object of our research. Among them, the main purpose of our article is to determine the expression in the media of folk precedent names common to Turkic languages. The novelty of our research article is the consideration of the use of folklore precedent names found in the titles of articles on the pages of modern Kazakh-language publications. Based on the characteristics of folklore precedent names, their activities are reflected in the newspaper text, pragmatic potential. For the first time in Kazakh linguistics, it became a national symbol and the reflection in the media of folklore precedent names characterizing the image of the nation was determined. The differential characteristics of folklore precedent names have been identified, according to the schedule of V. Krasnykh. The article was guided by the principles of methods of linguistic and cultural analysis, interpretation, contextual analysis, generalization, comparison of artistic text. To reflect national-cultural features through precedent phenomena, a descriptive method was used to reveal the semantic content of these phenomena.
