The reason why individuals cannot find a place in social life and have adaptation problems is the fact that they live disconnected from their traditions and their own culture. Because when a person grows up with the norms of the environment he lives in, he develops a harmonious personality. For this reason, it is thought that the negative events that we encounter in social life have a great share in the person's growing up far from his own culture. When the Turkish geography is taken into consideration, the concept of “Türkü” emerges as folk music. Every nation has many cultural elements that contribute to gaining a national identity. In the conceptual framework, which is the part after the introduction of our study, the definition of Turkic, its transmission and the concepts of folk songs and cultural transfer in terms of its place in our education system are included. In the third part, the method part of our research is explained, and in the fourth part, the findings of our research are given. From this point of view, the idea of including cultural transfer and value acquisition promotion in textbooks has emerged. As a result, when the contribution of the folk songs in the secondary school textbooks to the transfer of culture and value is examined, it has been determined that the texts are abbreviated, the songs are repeated in terms of the subject, cultural elements and values, the same folk songs are used repeatedly in different grades and books, the Turkish lessons are not included in the listening activities, the stories of the folk songs are not included. In this study, it is aimed to take into account the deficiencies identified in the culture and value transfer of folk songs while creating the textbooks. It is thought to be very important for our education system, which aims to raise a generation that can protect its national values.
