To date, major changes have been made to the education system, the formation of education and professional competencies of students focused on the results of training in higher educational institutions is becoming relevant. The formation of professional competence of future specialists is carried out at all stages of the educational process. Approaches to the formation of professional competencies are also diverse. The article presents a structural and content model of the formation of professional competence of future biologists with the help of ICT. The problem of measuring professional competence depends on the criteria and levels of its formation. A criterion is a sign by which an assessment or judgment is carried out. The criteria of professional competence are defined as the result of a systematic understanding, the allocation of its structural and functional components, creative development and the creation of pedagogical values, technologies in the professional and creative self-realization of the teacher's personality. The model presents three criteria for the formation of professional competence of future biologists: organizational-value, professional-cognitive and professional-activity. These criteria allow us to determine the basic, reproductive and creative levels of formation of professional competencies. In the experimental work took part 98 students on the formation of professional competence of future biologists through the use of information and communication technologies in the education system. According to the above criteria, during the use of information and communication technologies (working with electronic textbooks and computer programs with gene databases), the number of students with a creative level of professional competence increased by 11.5%, and with reproductive - by 19.0%. The obtained result confirms the hypothesis of the formation of professional competence of future biologists through the effective use of information and communication technologies.
