During the Second World War era, the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic was one of the most important centers where the Soviet Unions carried out its home front activities. West Kazakhstan and Guryev regions (today’s Atyrau and Mangistau provinces),which were formed western border with the RSFSR, were the main center of evacuation. Due to this situation the region has been primarily affected by population change. War casualties and the peoples resettled through forced migration are the other main factors that the structure of population. population movements and their consequences in Western Kazakhstan during the war period, especially in the Atyrau (Guryev) region, will be analyzed in the light of these factors by utilizing archival documents and statistics.
